Ji Dan Mian Bao! where Bread and Egg pave the way for love. after years and years of wonderful procrastination, J2 are back again with their second joint blog, which is deemed to survive their laziness in updating and they won't let it die, even if they have to eat it up. The site name has been chosen with love, where they decided on a greatly missed snack only to be enjoyed in their younger schooling days. Long live you, Ji Dan Mian Bao!

'Vivocity? What's that?'
'It's the big big mall that just opened not long ago!! You don't know meh?'
'Ohh you mean the IKEA at Tampines?'
'Noo! The Yi Feng Cheng la!'
'Huh?'

Having heard that, i knew that i have to bring my mum there. :p

We headed to the Food Republic @ Vivocity for our lunch after my dental appointment at Outram. Wow! It totally amazes me the moment i stepped into that place. It was really pleasing to the eyes with the kampong-style decorations. My mum told me that the doors used for decoration are those that they used to have in the past. Soon she started telling me all sorts of stories from the past, like how they're poor and only have dim lights, and how dim lights became the fashion now as it seems romantic. Wahaha~

Being a hakka and a lover of the thunder tea my aunt makes, my mum and me decided to try this out.

Basically thunder tea is lots of veggy mixed together with rice and a green tea soup which you soak everything in.

There's long beans, cabbage, carrots and some other greens, plus anchovies and peanuts which gives it a tasty crunch. With brown rice, it's kind of like.. damm healthy fried rice. ;p

The soup/tea/broth was alright. But it doesn't taste really authuentic. My aunt does it better. ;p Was rather bland in my opinion, and i think i tasted a hint of wasabi in there? My mum agreed that aunt makes better 'tea'. :D She hates wasabi by the way~

I wonder how the white rice version tasted like. The last time i ate at my aunt's she flavoured/ cooked the rice with shrimps and stuff, yummy.

:) Well, try it and tell me what you think.
