Ji Dan Mian Bao! where Bread and Egg pave the way for love. after years and years of wonderful procrastination, J2 are back again with their second joint blog, which is deemed to survive their laziness in updating and they won't let it die, even if they have to eat it up. The site name has been chosen with love, where they decided on a greatly missed snack only to be enjoyed in their younger schooling days. Long live you, Ji Dan Mian Bao!

while jas is busy eating and jul cannot code layouts, i shall sit here and blog - contributing to the first constructive entry of this wonderful site.

let me tell you about... ji dan mian bao.

i still remember my first bite. (no not really)
when you bite in the egg wrapped in bread and the egg yolk flows out of the egg and on to the bread, then you smile as you taste it.

Fengshan's Ji Dan Mian Bao, they were the best and unbeatable. :D
it's just egg with bread, but somehow no other can even equal to such a taste.

probably it's because of the memories it brings back. eagerly looking forward to each reccess to grab our daily must-haves, before heading out for our "Daily Walk" around the school to snack on yummy wheel biscuits. running towards our "Homeless Habitat" at the back of the school canteen, hiding in a corner enjoying the little aircon seeping out from the Music Room. for lunch, we eat Ji Dan Mian Bao as we wait for Higher Chinese lessons to start (or school to start after Higher Chinese lessons). running up the spiral staircase in a bid to get a good seat and to win the teacher who takes the lift up, our dear Ji Dan Mian Bao has been a big part of all these.

who would have known that 3 years after graduation, and moving into our 4th, we would so dearly miss the little egg-bread sitting inconspicuously in the corner of that little metal box to keep the food warm in a large canteen? i miss a lot of things in the school, so many special memories and friends those years have given me, and food like these give me a special taste of those days. i can still remember how the macaroni soup and the mifen tang tastes like, in it's bright orange bowl. or how i didn't really like the red bowl auntie and the hor fun but ate it anyway. or the nice purple plates with chicken rice - or rather rice with shredded chicken soaked in chicken soup. :P

and as you read all these you would know that i'm jul, or Julia. check out my profile at the sidebar, but there isn't much.
just know that i love Dongwan, and that i'm hungry, and that i'm going to eat now.

till the next time love:)
